After seeing Shane's 8-heart event, each chicken you purchase from Marnie has a 25% chance of being blue. Aside from appearance, blue chickens are identical to regular white and brown chickens. One subtle benefit to this alternative color is that blue chickens are much easier to spot in a field of grass.
This is the main reason I want to get to max friendship as soon as possible. I love having a coop with an even number of white, brown, blue, and void chickens... it makes for a cute variety of colors. Blue chickens don't give special eggs, they just lay white eggs the way white chickens do... but they're fun! They have purple wattles and curly tails!
I have no interest in going past platonic friendship with him, though. XD
