I used the Cell parts in Creature editor mod to give her cell stage “Beady Eyes”, without having to switch between the Early Creature and regular Creature editors mid-creation. I think it gives a cute, cartoony look, even if the eye color is wrong. I highly recommend this mod, even if you otherwise prefer to never use mods in games.
The pendant is actually a creature part (the “Mackne” detail part) stacked on top of a Civilization outfitter part (the “Eril Medallion”). This would not be possible for me to pull off without having installed a mod that makes both types of parts accessible in a single editor, but the game itself doesn’t consider the creature to be modded. Just be careful with the pendant - if you take it off, you won’t be able to easily get the “Macne” gemstone back without mods.
- There’s actually also a cell stage “Electric” part hidden inside her pendant, as well. This will only be relevant for Galactic Adventures, but I did this because it will cause the pendant to give off flashing lights when she uses the “Charm” social! I thought it was cute. The part is shrunken to its minimum possible size via Cell parts Xtended. I also highly recommend this mod for everyday playing.
- If you add a Mackne crystal (or a different crystal part) to the Creature Stage version yourself, it will be the same red color as the Macne crystal on the Civilization Stage version.
(And yes, I used lv3 frog freet instead of the duck-like lv1 bird feet. Bird feet don't grant the ability to dance in this game, and letting her dance is important, okay? Also, I think they fit better with how toy-like and chibi she is.)
I also used the ForceSave mod to create a third version, which can’t be saved in the editor without mods, but can be encountered as an NPC species in Creature stage without issue. You can also see the flashing pendant in action in this version! Download this version below.

Date: 2025-12-07 05:15 am (UTC)I think I had been playing with keeping my creature's cell parts through its evolution in creature stage, and had discovered that not only is the "flashing" animation (that's unique to the "electric" part) present throughout all levels of the "charm" social (rather than just the first level the electric part by itself grants), but at level five it becomes multiple blinks of light from the part! Some parts can be easily "nested inside" other parts, so I started incorporating secret electric parts inside of eyes and the like on creatures.
As for the pendant, I had actually gotten a glitch once where a version of my creature that I'd made in Tribal stage had somehow been converted into a Creature stage non-sophont, still wearing its clothes, so I knew the game could technically handle outfitter parts on an "animal", even if it wouldn't let you play as such creatures without mods. I've seen two other peoples' Spore!Ducks (here and here) try to build the pendant soley out of creature parts, but it doesn't look good to me in-game. (Generally, elaborately sculpted neck ruffs or necklaces don't work well with the blubbery way Spore creatures' necks and torsos... move.) I'd also learned while playing with Dark Injection (massive mod pack that I uninstalled later lmao) that creature parts can be stacked onto outfit parts if you have outfit parts in the creature editor. So I got the idea to use the medallion-pendant from the Civilization outfitter as the base for Duck's necklace.
